Hey everyone! It’s time for another What The Trend! Where I share thoughts and ideas on the latest trending things you all love!
Today, I’m talking the dreaded topic of bathing suits. I know we all struggle to find that perfect fitting piece that will give us the confidence to remove our beachy cover-ups to the world, and sometimes a bikini just is NOT going to happen. With that in mind, I am so exited how the timeless one-piece bathing suit has come swinging back into style! Whether your a monokini fan, or a classic bombshell there is no shame strutting your one piece on that beach!
I have searched far & wide for one that I was willing to pay a reasonable price point and that would meet my dreams of perfect detailin & I have finally found it!!
This black/ strappy item was on sale so I just couldn’t say no! It is by Blue Life Swimwear which is carried a bunch of different places, so get out there (or google) to your hearts desire! There’s tons of swimwear sales going on since we are finally approaching fall, but there’s still so much time for beachy & pool fun!
I think these styles are here to stay! So grab your favorite piece and hit the beach!
Hey everyone!! Welcome back to Eat Your Glitter. Things have been insane lately, but I am gaining some more free time and will be on a more frequent update to the blog schedule soon! In the meantime, I NEED to share the latest DIY project!
So I found these old boys jeans hiding in the depths of what I call a closet, and I seized the opportunity for a crafty upgrade! Similar to how I DIY-ed my black skinnies (see post here about it!) I took the same method and hacked away at these til they came out JUST how a distressed boyfriend jean should!
They are durable for work, since I always am COVERED in acrylic paint, I don’t mind dirtying them up a bit, and they are the perfect weekend go-to casual look!
Hey everyone!! I know things have been a little slow on the blog posts, but if you follow my Instagram I’ve been trying to keep it pretty up to date. I figure it’s about time for a brief round-up with 2016 now in full swing!

Hey everyone! It’s finally full swing of fall and that means one thing…boot season! I don’t know about you all but this time of year is probably one of my favorite things if we are going to have no choice but to transition into chilly weather. So naturally I’ve been on the hunt for those perfect pairs for the season. Like many of you out there, I’m sure you have seen the coveted Stewart Weitzman about-the-knee and thigh-high suede dream shoes literally all over everyone’s feet for like, a year now. Well, those aren’t exactly a price-range of a shoe that the average girl just trying to live her day in a cute way can handle. With the inspiration in my mind, I hunted around for some boots that gave me a similar look and what I discovered is amazingg!!
These boots are by Ivanka Trump and they have literally saved my craving for suede. I slid these on my feet and knew that these were the perfect pair. The olive color is so pretty and fitting for this time of year, but is still neutral that I can mix it up with some other items. (I can’t wait to experiment with outfits!)
It’s the little things in life that make me happy, and finding the ideal boot is definitely one of them!
What do you all think? What are you’re favorite boots of the season so far?
Hey everyone! Happy Fall! I don’t know about you all but this only means one thing in my mind: The Season of Boots is upon us. YES. This season brings so much. Great hair days with low humidity, the ability to wear just a sweater and jeans and not feel like tiny freezing knives are attacking you down the street(looking right at you North Eastern winters), and the oh so special moment we all feel when we slide on that particular pair of boots that makes us feel unstoppable. Personal favorite latté or seasonal drink is an optional accessory.
Anyway, until it becomes just the right temperature for this wonderful time of year I figured I’d post my recent instagram looks for those of you who haven’t been following along with me there. You should though, instagram is so fun and expressive daily, I’d love to connect with you all!
In the past few weeks of September it’s still been pretty warm where I can wear shorts so I tried to take advantage of this in my looks! I did throw on some distressed skinnies for the 1st day of fall, however I did regret it when it hit 80 degrees in the sunshine here.
I look forward to sharing some awesome fall fashion with you guys! What do you think, are you ready for the Godly season of boots and jeans??
Hey everyone! So it’s time that I have to get something off my chest– I am a serious jean addict. There is just something about the right pair of jeans that hug in all the right places that make you feel like strutting the streets in style and confidence! One trend I’ve been seeing lately in the denim category is the distressed black skinny jean and as soon as I saw them, I went on a HUNT for the perfect pair. After a days worth of energy in a huge mall, I failed to find my ideal distressed skinnies anywhere. (Or a pair that fell into a reasonable price range…) So, the plan became to DIY myself a pair! Follow my steps to creating your perfect DIY distressed denim!
So here’s what you’ll need to get started:
Pair of any jeans you want to rough up a bit! One brand I know fits me like a glove, and is cheap for a DIY project is from H&M. I highly recommend them!
An old razor
A box cutter or sturdy blade
Scissors – preferably fabric ones that will slice through denim nice & smoothly!
Cardboard or something to block the blade from cutting through to the opposite side of the jeans.
Step 1: Insert cardboard into a leg of the jeans!
Step 2: Get slicing! (CAREFULLY with those fingers please!) Take your blade and start ripping in a line across where you want the distress to start. It shouldn’t be a cookie-cutter perfect line, we want them to look roughed up!
As you are slicing, make the next cut about 1/2 an inch (or however wide you want the rip to be) right below the first line. And so on…until you are happy with the amount and size for distressing.
Step 3: Take your scissors and cut through the rough lines you made, so all the threads are broken and you are left with strips of fabric.
Step 4: Look closely at the strips of fabric. You’ll notice there are vertical threads and horizontal ones weaved together. Your goal here is to keep as many of the horizontal threads in tact, while removing and plucking out the vertical ones. If you are using a blue jean, the horizontal threads are more likely than not always white and the vertical ones are blue!
Before you go and rip up every one of the strips you cut, KEEP some of them as they are! They will distress naturally and keep some structure to the leg.
Take your tweezer and begin by pulling up one or two vertical threads at a time.
You’ll begin to be able to yank out a bunch at a time and be left with the horizontal threads only.
Here is what your fabric will start to look like once you get moving on those vertical threads! Be patient, that perfect distressing is worth your time, I promise.
After completing one leg, this is my result. (Above) I left a few strips of fabric still in tact beneath the ones I tore up as I mentioned before. I prefer a little structure, It says I’m down and dirty when I need to be, but I’m still a lady and I have my shit together… 😛 Effortless style is hard to achieve! Take your time in perfecting each leg the way you are most happy with!
Step 5: After you have sliced up the legs and any major areas of the jeans, go in and take your old razor and scrape away at some smaller areas. I like to add this around the back pockets and the front pocket areas! It will lighten the cotton and you can always go back in and scrape some more roughness with the big blade.
Step 6: Although your jeans are already looking amazing, they will really pull together if you throw them through your washing machine TWICE. Wash them, dry them. Then wash and dry again. This helps to naturally tumble up the fabric and give that polished distressed softness we all are seeking!
Step 7: Rock the hell outta your new personalized jeans!
I hope you all enjoyed this DIY project! I personally am thrilled with my results and I’m sure you will be too! Any questions? Let me know via comment or email! email@example.com.
Hey everyone! How’s you’re summer going? So I’m sure some of you recently celebrated the 4th of July! Whooh. Same. I don’t know about you all, but I’m in need of a serious holiday weekend detox. Anyway, previously if you keep up with my Instagram account I shared two looks that I am absolutely in love with!
I first wore these outrageously neon joggers from Kore Boutique in Miami for a night out in the city! They were so comfortable all night while still had a super fun night life vibe! They also paired so well with my favorite slip ons that I’ve mentioned previously on the blog. I also had gotten some fresh renewed pink streaks so basically this outfit was beaming bright from head to toes.
The second look is my classic American 4th of July attire! I am currently loving these denim short overalls! They have the perfect festive outfit without being too cliché red white and blue, yet still fit the American persona for the day. They are (coincidentally) also from Kore Boutique.
How did you all dress for the 4th this weekend! I hope they were filled with fun, food, family, friends, and of course cocktails!
Hey everyone! How have you all been lately? Busy? Same. I have recently picked up an internship helping out a local boutique with social media (www.albaboutique.com check them out, they have spme grate things to shop!) on top of my part-time job so I have been running around like crazyy day &night…literally.
With this kind of schedule I need types of clothing that are appropriate and stylish to wear to intern in the morning and then run immidiately like a mad woman to my job in the evening-night shift where I am positively going to get paint on some part of my body. What could possibly be easier to wear than a maxi dress? Almost nothing. This dress is from the brand O’Neill and a few seasons ago, so I don’t know if this exact style is still around anywhere. However, I love this brand and others similar to it for the summer. All the items are easy to wear and light weight for the heat. It doesn’t cling to the body as the summer humidity attempts to melt you away. It pairs perfect with flip flops or sandals and makes a great all day outfit to run around in,whatever you may have on your agenda!
Hope you all are staying cool and having fun out there!
Hey Everyone! Happy Summer! Or as the calender tells us it is….the weather around here the past few days has been anything but summer time fine. Gloomly clouds and rainy skies have filled the air lately. With this kind of set up I figure it is appropriate to take advantage of the time I can to wear these distressed white skinnies! As I finally have a day off from work and won’t be working with paint, it is a great day for me to break out some crisp clean whites!
I paired these classics with another of my all time favorite go to shirts. This shirt from Vans is SO COMFY. I am sure you all have that super soft-easy to wear-give me a hug type tshirt hiding in your closests. I’m here to tell you it is the BEST item to over-wear and rock all the time, es pecially on a day off from work or a weekend full of to-dos. Nothing is better than running errands in a breathable cotton t-shirt that won’t give you none of that sass as you wait in that absurdly long Starbucks line for your mid-day pick me up.
Enjoy your Thirsty Thursday everyone! It’s almost the weekend!
Hey everyone! Happy Memorial Day! I hope you have all had a great weekend of barbecue classic American gatherings and fun!
It was finally warm enough (for me) to wear short sleeves and shorts at night without feeling frozen to my bones, so I was super excited to break out my leather shorts for the occasion. Leather shorts are a complex clothing item, no? The material is not mid summer nights appropriate at all, however they give a perfect edgy and fun vibe to an outfit, so I say we try to take advantage of the small frame of time when they are the perfect item to wear!
Paired with my favorite colors, this look was easy and bright for a nice dinner without being over dressed.
The slip on flats are Steve Madden and they’re so comfy and easy to wear! They’re a many styles and colors of this shoe I highly suggest checking them out!
